Don't cry in front of a fish

Right by my place there's a Cheers.... I find this really cool, cus as the tv- sitcom- nerd I am, Cheers, the sitcom, is a classic. But I didn't know that this bar (in this case, a café) is a chain that can be found in more than one places (I hardly doubt that Malaga and Boston are the only ones). Below is the sign from Cheers in Malaga.

This is the poster for the sitcom and as you can see, the logo is exacly the same. Isn't that cool or what.

Btw, I have never been at the café, it's right by the cathedral so it's probably expensive.

When I see myself looking this good, I get horny too

Pharmacy
I got my medicine but the bus thing was closed. The pharmacies here have most of the stuff behind counter and conodms and baby food in the store, so you have to ask for everything. I like going to the pharmacy in Sweden, they have most of it on shelfs and a lot of folders and pamletts to read. I guess I am a litte hypcondric when I say that I like going to the pharmacy and read about all the stuff I might have. Another thing the pharmacies have here, that thy don't in Sweden are neon signs that blinks. Neon signs that blinks does not say pharmacy in my eyes and it feels a little peculiar. Mr. M got a little annoyed with me when I was joking about it, I guess, it does express seriousity here. I don't know if you can see it (the pharmacy I was at had just one little sign, there are pharamcies that has big sign with text and different patterns that move around and blinks)

Clothes are dryed outside. Or outside but in the middle of the apartment (in my case). It's like they built the apartment around an invisible squere and it is not like a balcony, it feels like it is solely for the purpose of hanging out clothes.
The kitchen has a gas stove, a microwave, a grill/toaster and the washing machine for clothes (and outside of the window in the kitchen, there's more strings. (Obviously a sink as well is located in the kitchen)
After doing the dished, they can neatly be put behind cupboard doors for drying. A very neat invention, indeed.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the hole in the wall in the kitchen. Common here, a disaster in Sweden, I might add.

Right now
I'm so tired I think I'm gonna fall asleep in the chair, put, I'm gonna pull myself together and stay awake.

Food

Croquetas,
They are oval balls filled with ham, mushrooms, chicken or basically anything you have or like (so, I have been told) First you make something that looks like dough in the frying pan from oil and flower, then you mix in whatever ingridient you want to have, let it cool and shape oval balls (I know it sounds contradicting, but I don´t know any other way to explain it) that you roll in flower/breadcrums and then you deep fry them in a frying pan. They are usually eaten with a deep fried egg.

All that Robin Hood, Batman and Jesus stuff

Once again, I'm back at the café, trying to do something useful but mostly playing farmville instead. I wish I could blog all the time too, but I am really lazy and the lack of internet is not really helping.
I had the interview today (if you can call it that) I didn't really understand a lot she said but the point was mainly to tell me that tomorrow the results are gonna be posted and what hour do I want to have my class (I said nine) and that I have to pay on Friday (Viernes?) and that classes start on Monday. I meet some people too, a German girl and a man from somehwere that knew Swedish. Yesterday I spoke with a Maroccan girl. I'll probably meet a lot of people here....

A couple of days ago, when I was in the grocery store, I found something atleast I found fun. A relleno nordico (I don't understand why they call it relleno when that apparently is a typical dish from Chile) It's a common blanket...

Nordic (normal?) blanket

Until I went to the U.S, I expected that everyone has their bed as I always had it (and my friends and my family too). I've been to hotels that has it differently, with bed sheet, then another sheet and a blanket with the sheet folded over it on the top, but I just assumed that the sheet was just extra protection for the blanket, because the blanket still had the cover. As far as I know, you have a blanket and then you have a cover for it, like the pillowcase, but for the blanket. First of all, you cover the matress with the sheet. The first sheet and the pillows are the same, what is different is the whole blanket business.

As said, I thought that it was a blanket that you cover with a blanket case (let's call it that) so when I came to the U.S I was a bit confused when I got a blanket, but no "case" and noone else seemed to have it. I discussed this with Mr. M (that is my boyfriend that I met in the U.S) and he did not see a problem with this at all. In Spain they use the same idea but instead of a blanket, they use a fleeceblanket instead (I guess it's a bit warmer here).

The fun thing about the blanket in the grocery store is that they call it nordico. I always seen this as something completely ordinary but here it is something exotic from the north. As IKEA doesn*t seem to change accordingly to the country they are in, they sell blankets and cases, the same as they do in Sweden, so when the temperature dropped, all the blankets were gone in a second. All the new Spanish customers found this very interesting.

I guess that everything is exotic for someone.

Crap...
And then I found out that it is not even sure that you get accepted. It doesn't sound right that I have to pass a language test to be able to learn that language. But I'm not making the rules. Right now I'm sitting in the schools cafeteria and suddenly I'm alone exept from two other people that are also looking at a screen. When I came it was a group of people having a contest on which can be the loudest one. I couldn't even hear what Mr. M was saying in the phone. I hate people.

Last Friday,we played drinking Ludo with mini-tequila sunrise, liquorice shots and other liquids. It was reall fun even though I really can't take the vodka (in the liqurice shots) so next time, I'm gonna alternate with water. It was a fun night :) Even though I did expect some arguing regarding the rules, I lost the small piece of paper that explains them or there never was one. I thought that the rules of Ludo was universal until I med Mr. M, apparently it's the national sport of Marocco (not reall,y but everbody plays it or something like that) and the game is very komplex and have a lot of rules. For me it has always been something kids play or grownups play for social purposes (until drinking Ludo, the it become for party purposes as well). The rules explained
on Wikipedia are the ones I use, exept from that you can also move a piece out to the board if you throw a one.

Die, Bart, Die

Okey, time for a usefull entry. After being in Malaga for some months now I have experienced some stuff that are different from the cold country in the north, where I am from. Going out is one of them. In my hometown, party starts at six and contains of drinking as much as you can to get as loaded as you can before you find a suitable victim to mate with (it might be different as you grow older but I am suspicious). In the slighter bigger city were I spent 5 of my 25 years of living, party start at eight or nine and contains of drinking as much as you can before standing halfanhour in line, pay 80 kr to get in, 20 to hang you coat (there's always a coat and you are not allowed to bring it in) and then another 60 for a beer (being that halfanhour in the cold standing somewhat still in the line kind of sobered you up so you need a small refill) The rest of the night contains of dancing and then at 2 am when everything closes you get out buy some Mcdonalds food and pay another 100 kr for a taxi. In the U.S we walked or drove to everything and partying started at ten, other than that, it was more or less the same as Sweden.

In Spain however, ten is not late enough. Ten is when you have dinner and it is not damn-I-haven't-eat-anything-the-whole-day-stress-something-together kind of dinner either. It's the laid back hanging out with a bunch of small dishes kind of dinner. Then you meet up for the partying at midnight (at midnight in Sweden most people are either passed out, drunkendancing or heading home at that time) to have a couple of beers/drinks/ciders or whatever you please for like 3€ and then you go to another place. All the nightclubs have prs walking the streets giving you flyers and promising free drinks. So if you pay 5€ in the entrance you get two free drinks. The downside is that it is different for boys and girls (more expensive for boys) which doesn't seem right at all but Sweden have the aging thing where boys are considered to mature a lot later that girls, like three years later. It's still cheaper even though it is more expensive for boys but in the end I guess you get what you pay for.

This is the sight at the womens bathroom in one of the nightclubs in Malaga. I wish I remembered what the name of the club was, but I don't. I do remember one of my boyfriends friends asking if the item on the picture was mine, an answer is unnecessary.
An advice before hitting the clubs in Malaga is to bring tissues. I guess that I am a really unusual girl cus I actually sit on the toilet and not hoover over it, thinking that I am the only person in the world that doesn't have bacterias and that are cleaner that everyone else. I have to say that this attitude creates a moment 22. Because the people who do this cus the toiletring is full of pee is also the people who splashes the pee all over the ring. In conclusion, you are the one you think are disgusting.

Anyway, tissues is not only for the wiping (cus there's probably no toiletpaper) but also for cleaning the toilet (look again at the above statement if you don't follow). Other that that, the light probably doesn't work either and sometimes the toilet itself is out of order.

Actually, I recomend to pee before you leave house and then just hold it it but if you can't tissues are a life savior even though it makes you feel a little like your grandma.

Other than this, the music is more or less the same and people dance and are drunk as they are everywhere and in the end a lot of people found someone to mate with that they are gonna regret the next day, just as everywhere else.

I was Pippi Longstocking (as you can see) and I was recongnized by pretty much all. I guess the ones who didn't shout Pippi, recongnized me as well but decided to not say anything. It was really fun and I am actually proud of the hair :)

I'm gonna check out the situation and you people can check out my ass when I leave, I think you will be pleased

Yes, I got lost in the Farmville djungel ;)
And among the cockroaches and dirt in this apartment. I'm mostly going back and forth between my apartment and Mr. Ms' apartment. And I struggle with finding a good hour to do my work. I consider myself doing good work in relation to what I get paid and other circumstanses but for myself I can't really find the good hours. As usual, I watch way to many sitcoms and drag my butt out of bed later than I feel that I should. Late by two hours or so, so I'm not too late.
This is the thing I've been struggeling with my whole life and as other people always think I am ridiculus, there are stuff I find easy and "just to do" that most people struggle with. Just to make a point. Just to...

Anyway, I've been thinking about taking more pictures of my apartment (room) and show them but I haven't felt that I adjusted myself completely yet. I am however, getting there.
Today I got my first paycheck (hopefully) Yeey!!!! But I have no idea what the amount is cus of taxes and stuff....

This was two weeks ago, the first "party" for me in my apartment. It's white wine and sprite mixed in a big pot with ice and tiny glasses to drink with (or proper coffe cups) after we finished this (three people) we headed over to a disco on a ship to party with Jack Sparrow. Not really, but my other apartment buddies work there so we got behind the magical VIP rope and got more to drink. Needles to say I had some problems balancing on my high heels at the end of the night and basically walked barefeet back home. I should have taken a photo of my feet. Last week, Mr M had a party cus he had a birthday and we were at his place. The idea was to go to a fancy place next to where he lifes but in the end we ended up in at the ship again and again, I had my high heels. The night ended with us taking a taxi back to his place cus he forgot to tell me that we would sleep in my place. This weekend, there was a Erasmus party here and me and Mr M stayed home. I don't have any money so I can't really go anywhere.... On Friday, there's another party at the ship.

Well, my room during the big cleaning....

You use chocolate as a positive enforcment for what you think is good behaviour

God morning. I strongly tried to get my butt out of bed at nine but it insisted on staying there to around ten. Since then, I actually put some clothes in the washer machine, called and confirmed a meeting and opened an excel document for my Spancom clients... I have to be out of the house around 12:40 so hopefully I will mangage to get something more done. Right now, I'm eating breakfast and searching seriesyonkis for anything good that I haven't seen.

Btw, took this picture last Saturday, a bit early?

Everyone just want to be scratched

Today, after getting the keys for my apartment :) we decided to pay IKEA a visit, because of the most nasty pillow and bed blanket I've ever seen. I kind of felt a litte regretful that I didn't bring the stuff I bought in U.S from U.S, it was very good stuff, bought at Walmart (I miss my pillows, almost as much as everything else), I mean, I payed for overwight anyway...and I kind of regret not taking my cow blanket from home with me. I have no idea where I got that thing, but I like it. If I'm making my mom sending me stuff, I'm defenitly putting the blanket in there. Anyhow, the blankets were kind of expensive but I did get a pillow for 4,95 something. Other than that, IKEA is always a treat and I think I had the most fun in the food store at the end.
Here are some pictures!

Malaga by Day

For my article in the Norwegian Magazine, they wanted to have pictures of me where you can see that I am in Malaga. What better place is there than the actual view of Malaga. So me and Mr M went up to the looking point again to take photos for it. I guess I should give him credits for everything when he was the one with the idea, the one who provided the camera that can take good pictures and the person who actually took the pictures. This time the fair is not in the top right corner, this picture was taken yesterday (Tuesday) and the fair was over on Sunday.

Malaga by Night

We went uphill to were all the tourists look at Malaga. the original idea was to go by day and by foot but it ended with us going by night and by car. Lazy people, I know. It was cool to see the entire city from up there and with be bull fight arena in the middle. The feira is in the top right corner, the only thing you see is a small blue light, which is the farris wheel, I guess. Only half of the city got cought in the picture, but it is the half with the bull fight and the feria, the other half didn´t really have anything, as far as I could see.

At the pool

Finally we went to the pool and I could´t help myself to take a picture of my fli flops andthe sun. even thought it was kind of windy and I guess I got used to the temperature so i don´t find it so hot anymore. We stayed in the pool until we were raisins and then went up to dry and then back to the apartment. It is really cool with a pool in the backyard where you can go and swim at any time you want to, with no sand and the only thing you need to bring is the towel. Well, maybe not at anytime, it closes at 10 pm and we have to bring and id that gives us permission to be there and of course the house keys (a bit hard to get back in otherwise). We haven´t been to the pool too much, though, so much other stuff to do. I think this was the second or third time and this time I took some pictures.
I plan to post a lot more pictures but I didn´t bring my computer this time so I have to use Mr M´s computer and I don´t want to save my pictures there so I have to copy them from my camera. It´s not hard or complicated, I´m just to lazy to do it. I hope however, that this pics say something about my stay here :)
